It's better to fight for something than against something.
Author Unknown

When we are moving towards something rather than away from something, we continue to be motivated. If we are caught in a rip and we struggle we will quickly lose our energy. However, if we go with the flow there is more likelihood we will reach the goal we desire because we can now focus on what is happening around us rather than having our focus be so narrow.

What causes you to move away from or resist something, rather than going with it to see what other options there may be?

Different responses

Do not condemn the judgment of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Dandemis

The phrase “what you think of me is none of my business” comes to mind when I read this quote. We don’t know the reason another person may respond differently to the way we would deal with something. Until we can say we have experienced life in their shoes it is helpful to let go of the judgemental thoughts that have come into our minds, and even be open to learning the reasons they may be doing what they are doing.

Seek freedom and become captive of your desires. Seek discipline and find your liberty.

Frank Herbert, Dune Chronicles

This is a great definition of freedom. How often do we confuse freedom with believing that we need to do everything we want to do when we want to do it in order to have a happy life? When we apply discipline, that is personal responsibility, to our lives it is then we discover a new sense of control and release, and it is this that truly brings us freedom.

What steps can you take to bring more freedom into your life?
